What is my compensation?

The total package is valued at €25,000 and divided in the following ways:

  • €5,000 gross monthly salary.
  • €10,000 in travel and lodging expenses: prestigious hotels and round the world business class flights (meals and transportation) are included.
  • €10,000 at your disposal on a debit card so you can shop in each city throughout the world.

Where will I be staying throughout my trip around the world?

Thanks to AccorHotels.com you will be able to carry out your mission in comfort and style.

During each visit to a major world metropolis, as an International Shopping Consultant, you will have the privilege of staying in some of the best hotels in the world, such as: The fabulous Sofitel Saint James in London, The modern Novotel Road in Hong Kong, and the Magnificent Sofitel New York situated just steps away from the famous 5th Avenue…

What happens to the items I buy during my shopping mission?

You get to keep them all! As part of your job, you have at your disposal, a debit card charged with €10,000 so you can shop all over the world. All of the purchases that you make will be yours at the end of your journey.

What cities will I visit?

You will get to shop in Paris, Milan, London, Berlin, New York, Tokyo, and Hong Kong. You will travel to each city in business class.

When will the job start?

It’s up to you! We are ready to accept the best available candidate for the position of “ International Shopping Consultant”: The mission will last 1 month and must be completed, at your convenience from 1 January 2010 to 31 December 2010

How do I apply?

  1. For starters, you must submit your CV online, via our partner, Monster.
  2. Next, to better evaluate your shopping expertise, you must take a shopping quiz on http://job.letsbuyit.com/quizz.html.
  3. Finally, you must post an application video of yourself expressing your motivation. Then invite your friends and family to recommend you for the job by voting for your video and leaving comments.

What are the selection requirements?

You must be 18 years of age or over and speak one of the following languages: English, French or German. You must be a passionate shopping expert. You must be great communicator: be comfortable speaking in front of the camera and writing your experiences throughout your world tour on a shopping blog.

What are the requirements for the application video?

  • Length: approximately 60 seconds
  • Format: Videos via webcam, camera or mobiles are acceptable!
  • Objective: Prove to us that you are passionate and a shopping expert!
  • You must be original, motivated, convincing and witty. Hidden camera, reporting, testimony, song or photo montage… it’s up to you to choose the style.
  • 3 possible languages: English, French or German.
  • Post your video on YouTube, and then add the URL to your personalised application page http://job.letsbuyit.com/pseudo.

What will my missions entail?

There will be 2 missions that our The (second) best job in the world must accomplish during their journey.

  • Accomplish shopping tasks in each city throughout your journey. Among the assigned tasks: find and visit the best shopping districts, find products unique to each region, find the best deals in each country, share the latest trends and fashionable products, electronics, photo and video equipment, gadgets, etc…
  • Share your experience on a blog: The International Shopping Consultant of LetsBuyIt.com will be provided with a digital camera and a camcorder that will enable them to share journey with web surfers on a dedicated blog, Facebook, Twitter, You Tube and Flickr.

Important Dates:

  • Monday 14 December 2009: At noon Paris time (GMT+1) is the final application deadline.
  • Monday 21 December 2009: At noon Paris time. The winning candidate will be announced via email to all the participants and also on the site http://job.letsbuyit.com.
